We’ll use real clay & glazes to make clay creations. We’ll learn about coil pots, pinch pots, and working with slabs to create pottery that we glaze in lots of bright colors. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery in a kiln and bring it back to school so students can take their finished work home. In our last class we'll use paint in a rainbow of colors to finish pre-made pottery.  (K-5)


Day & time: Wednesday • 3:10-4:10

Class dates: 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8

3. Glaze our pottery We will finish the pottery that we’ve made with bright, shiny glazes. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery and bring it back to school the next week so students can take their work home.
2. Decorated mug Our mugs will be decorated with shapes of bright color.
4. Coil pot Our bowls will be made with coils.
5. Owl We will make owls for Halloween.
1. Animal pots We’ll make an imaginary animal’s face in clay.
8. House Our houses will have doors, chimneys and more.
6. Glaze our pottery We will finish the pottery that we’ve made with bright, shiny glazes. Adventures in Art will fire the pottery and bring it back to school the next week so students can take their work home.
7. Birds We’ll make birds with bright beaks. If we want we can make a pinch pot nest with eggs.
9. Paint our pottery In our last class we will finish our birds and houses with paints in a rainbow of colors, sparkles and glitter. Our birds and houses can go home on the day that we paint them.
